A coffee with a difference
ನನ್ನ ಬಹುತೇಕ ದಿನಗಳ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಸವಾರಿಯ ದಿನಚರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 6.15ರ ಸುಮಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 10.5 ಪೆಡಲ್ ತುಳಿದ ನಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಂಧೀ ಬಜಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕುದಶಕಗಳಿಂದಿರುವ 'ಎಸ್ ಎಲ್ ವಿ ಕಾರ್ನರ್'ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫೀ ವಿರಾಮ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಕಾಫಿಗೆ ದೊರಕುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸ್ವಾದದ ಭಾವದ ಕುರಿತು ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಮೊದಲ ಆಪ್ತತೆ ಎಂದರೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಫಿ ನೀಡುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ನಗೆಮೊಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ "ಸಾರ್, ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಪೆಷಲ್ ಕಾಫಿ" ಎನ್ನುವ ಗೋವಿಂದಣ್ಣ ಅವರು. ಆಗಾಗ ನಾನು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ: "ನಾವು ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಇದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಸೇವಾ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ನೋಡುವಂತಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತೆ ಅಲ್ವಾ!” ಎಂದು. ಈ ಸುಂದರ ಸೇವಾ ಭಾವವುಳ್ಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ದಿನದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಕ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವೆನಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಗೋವಿಂದಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಆಪ್ತ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ.
In life few small courtesies can make our life much more special than what actually they are. During my cycling routines at Bangalore, at around 6.15 in the morning with a pedaling of 10.5 kms, I used to take a coffee break at SLV Corner which is a known name for over 4 decades at Gandhi Bazar. One thing that used to make me feel my coffee very special here was Mr. Govindanna who served it with smiling face. He used to give my coffee by saying "Sir, here is your special coffee". I often say to myself "how nice it will be, if we are able to do every work of ours as a service like this". Hats off to Govindanna and special thanks to him for making my days special at very early in the mornings.
